A voice readers travelled to find
In the early 2000s Brianna Austin was a rising voice in the transgender community, working out of New York City and writing for a website that drew readers from around the world. Numbers on a traffic report are abstract. What that reach actually looked like was this.
“You’re Brianna Austin. I read the essays on your website.”
A woman who crossed the room at East of Eighth in Chelsea one weekend. She had come from Paris.
That is the readership. It was never only local, and it never only skimmed.
In print
Brianna went on to write a widely read column in GIRL TALK Magazine and TG News, contributed to Lady Like Magazine, and had her work reprinted by other publications. Her magazine cover features and print archive collects that era, and The Girls Club records the New York community she came up in.
Back, and building
After a long sabbatical she returned, coming off a 2020 book release, with several new books complete and further releases scheduled. The site has been rebuilt around that work: reporting and commentary, a growing reference library of evergreen guides, and the essays and interviews described on the about page.
Every new post is shared to Brianna’s following on Facebook, across her profile and the pages for TG Reporter News and Brianna TG Columnist, on LinkedIn, and on newly established Bluesky and X accounts growing alongside the relaunch.

What is not accepted
Brianna does not accept adult, casino or betting content. That is a firm line, not a starting position, and it holds regardless of the rate offered. Sponsors are accepted on the understanding that their presence sits alongside reporting on a community that is frequently misrepresented, and the advertising is expected to reflect that.
